Glencoe – classic landscapes of Scotland

The beautiful natural landscape of Scotland is perfect material for classic landscape photography. The Scottish Highlands in particular offer a rugged beauty which is very rare. Rannoch Moor in the Highlands has been described as the last natural wildness in Europe . The Photogold gallery features a selection of classic landscapes of Queens View, Loch Tummel, Glencoe, Buachaille Etive Mor and many more.

I have just added three new images of Glencoe to the prints gallery.

Glencoe 20 is a late evening image available as a framed print.

Glencoe 22 features Buachaille Etive Mor , the iconic mountain in the heart of the Highlands .

Glencoe 24 is a panoramic view of the three Paps of Glencoe.

what is Glencoe famous for ?

the notorious  Massacre of Glencoe ( Murt Ghlinne Comhann) took place  on 13 February 1692 when 30 members of Clan Macdonald were killed . Glencoe is also Glencoe is perhaps Scotland’s most scenic glen. Glencoe is also probably Scotland’s most historic glen, and it was recently voted as Scotland’s most romantic glen.
